For me the only reason Force Commander existed was for the soundtrack.

I still cant believe how many hours I've wasted playing Yoda Stories. . .

Well, your judgment is known to be highly questionable but there's a slight possibility that you didn't look at the Mode 7 level except nothing in the Super Star Wars series could ever have been called awful. Only criticism I ever remember was some players whined about the difficulty.

You're right--while the video I happened upon was no more than a side-scrolling shoot-'em-up of the snowspeeder variety, more searching turned up a far more impressive level that very closely resembles the one in Shadows. And to boot the rest of the level looked pretty interesting as well.

I don't have anything at all against Wookie. Perhaps, though, there hasn't been enough respect shown between us. He actually seems like one of the more polite members here, notwithstanding whatever it is Jon`C and I tend to read into his political remarks, leading us to brutally attack his position (and perhaps less defensibly in my case, dogpiling on to cast all sorts of aspersions on his character without second thought).

Also, I've posted a lot of bizarre and impulsive things here and he thinks I'm weird / naive.

I too justified it as 'You can play as Vader in MP on Mysteries Of The Sith'. I thought the cover for Jedi knight was incredible although it always looked like you were fighting Jerec on the Fuel Station Launch level (in my opinion - this and the opening level of MOTS are the best levels LEC ever made).

Damn, to be a Star Wars geek and a video game nerd to is to know-about/play yoda stories......

I bought the JKDF2 box with vader, don't think I ever realized that it never happens..... damn.... What an odd stroke of luck, for me to stumble upon this PC game as an unassuming, and clueless 8 year old. What chances, that it led me here to Massassi. Pre-pubecent me had some rad taste. Just the other day I re-watched "The 13th Warrior" (A Viking movie with Antonio Banderas) for the first time since I initially saw it back in 1999 or 2000. I liked the movie as a kid, but damn, that was a cool flick! Ok I digress.

Now, don't mistake me, I love the Super Star Wars series. I grew up playing them. BUT, I was born in 1990. This means I actually played Shadows of the Empire LONG before I got my hands on the SNES games. Coming off 3D star wars games, and going back to 2D gameplay is tough. Not to mention the face that, yeah man, they WERE hard. The Dune-esk sandworm boss is easy enough, and if you get the lock on rockets the game gets considerably easier, but that's a fat chance. ALSO that sand-crawler level is long and tedious platforming. Its no cakewalk. If you are indeed as good at the game as you say, id be interested in watching. Throw up a video of you blasting the sand-crawler level in the ass and I will never doubt you again.

Now that I think about it, they were pretty cool games. I member playing as Luke and Han, and Bounty Hunter Leia in Jedi. Fighting Boba Fett in Empire. Fighting that monster Wampa in empire. Getting my taun taun killed. ahh good times.

I never said they weren't hard. I have a strategy guide for Empire so I must have thought it hard at the time. And, I didn't say anything about how good I am at any of the games. I do know I've beaten them all but most likely not within the past two decades. I was more impugning those who whine about the difficulty as if it's a negative rather than a challenge. Plus, the game offers difficulty levels. I probably beat them all on normal. I think Star Wars can be done pretty easily under an hour on easy but it's been a long time since I've done it.

I picked up Shadows on GOG awhile back. I do still have it on N64 but I wanted the PC version. Damn mess trying to get controls configured for that game. Flying controls weren't too hard for the Snowspeeders but the third person controls seem really awkward.

There's actually an old arcade vector graphics Star Wars game that more or less played like the Shadows of the Empire version. It wasn't so bad.
